Re: camping with babies - highchairs?
I was given a fantastic highchair that folds completely flat so can fit eg behind the front seats or anywhere really. When open its full size. I'm not sure where it was originally from but it might be worth a look on ebay.

We have taken one of these a few times - only £12 from ikea (+ £4 for a tray if you really want to splash out!). The chair bit is a bit awkward to pack but really light and the legs all come out separately so don't take up any space at all

If they're crawling/walking, then you'll really appreciate being able to stick them in one of these and know that they'll still be there wen you get back! If there's one thing we learned camping last year it's that the lack of walls/boundaries means you need to keep an eye on them all the time. Our neighbours had obviously thought of this and made a corall out of loads of windbreaks - we were proper jealous!!

We used something similar to this that fitted around the buddy chair. Wasnt this exact model but couldnt find the exact one.

Or like others have said, save the dosh and use the car seat.
Happy camping.

Ooh, thanks for that. That looks useful for restaurants etc that don't have high chairs.

thanks for all the ideas. We ended up getting one of the Mamas and Papas snug seats, very like the bumbo. It was useful to be able to put her in the middle of the floor and eat with a plastic sheet under her so we could clean it all up again. It's also something we can use in the house as well. All in all it was a great trip (we went to Corfe Castle, Dorset) though it was flippin freezing!
