Arrgghh. Self amalgamating tape.
Is there a secret to peeling the rubber from the plastic strip. Apart from lots of swearing and 10 mins of faffing.

Re: Arrgghh. Self amalgamating tape.
I have struggled with it for years.
The best way that I have found is to to cut a piece with a craft knife but only cut half way across then pull to snap the backing and tape. This way the two can be stretched and wrinkles form that can be used to separate the two. If you are lucky a quick score across the backing with a craft knife will just cut the backing. Here are a couple of cuts that I have just done:

I must have different tape as both the rubber and backing stretch.

Re: Arrgghh. Self amalgamating tape.
Been using it for many years. My trick is to pull at the edge of a corner, literally the last couple of mm. The tape grips your finger better than the shiny backing and comes apart. But mine does have a smooth plastic backing tape, yours may be different.

Some tapes are easier than others I found, even tried heating the corner gently with a lighter to try and separate them.
