Cleaning Wheel Bearings

Post by pbar »

What do you guys use for cleaning wheel bearings on your van? Haynes mentions paraffin, but people seem to genereally use whatever they have on the shelf, white spirit, brake cleaner, WD-40, petrol, acetone, thinners, isopropyl alcohol. Can all of those be used? Thanks.

Anything that dissolves grease will do. I prefer paraffin though. It is cheap and safe to work with and does a brilliant job!

Sold! Thanks a lot. I intend to get some, you said a couple of magic words, cheap and safe (cheap is especially magical).
