Changing female power inlet
Hi
My t25 has a female 230/240 power inlet and I want to change it to a male fitting so it will fit my electric hook up lead. Any advice? Links to suitable products? It’s an angled fitting
Cheers
David

Re: Changing female power inlet
It would be extremely dangerous to have a male power lead. The bare pine would be live, and very easily touched. Are you sure it's an input to the van, not an aux output? I know that sounds odd, but not odd and dangerous. I think k I saw that this was your 5th post, so I assume the van is fairly new to you?

Re: Changing female power inlet
Sounds like there is a mix up of what’s male and female, in effect the end of the hook up lead is a socket so the live contacts are shrouded which then attaches to the bare pin connector on the van.
Sounds as if the OP has a socket on the van, when it should be a plug, or am I missing something?

Hi mike
Apologies for sounding dumb, and yes we are new to the van but have been caravanning for years. Our caravan has a male inlet inside the battery box. The hookup lead female end connects to that and the male end connects to the site female outlet.
Whereas our t25 has a female inlet which means if we were to stay onsite our hookup lead would be useless as the end that plugs into the site is male and the end that would connect to the van is female so wouldn’t fit!
So unsure what to do!!

The van should have a male socket, same as the caravan.

I thought so!! I’ve seen a ‘power part’ angled male inlet on amazon (with cap’ should I change the female inlet to this one?

If the previous owner made that blinding error I would check out the rest of the mains wiring also as there may be more dangerous horrors awaiting you.

The angle type you linked to should be fine.
