There are other solutions on the market. Like the Gowesty and the Clustermaster set.

For anyone interested they are South Africa based and offer a DiY kit: http://www.clustermaster.co.za/diyrepairkits.html
"Repair Kit Price: R 1320 including delivery to your door. For outlying areas please add R50. NB: This offer is for SA only"
Their kit offers a slightly different approach to the problem in that it uses a wiring harnes from a central plugin box - check out the installation video at 00:04

campervanculture market the kits aswell in the uk, i got mine from Gowesty in the states and fitted in less than an hour, all working and very tidy install. Mines the analogue upgrade kit and here it is fitted with the old foil next to it.

I got the clustermaster one over 3 years ago
and it’s still working fine .
Easy to install fitted in an hour or so.

All Clustermaster kits for UK/European van configurations are usually in stock the whole time and distributed through CampervanCulture.com here in South London/Surrey boarder.
