I see you're using Tapatalk, you can post pics straight from the app without using any of the 3rd party sites. It's dead easy, there should be a box that looks like this...Image

A nice Devon.
With the number plate in the right place!
Now you have it keep it nice
Regular service (every 6 months or 3500m oil & filter)

Change the brake fluid
Change the gearbox oil
Now.

Congratulations it looks as though you have found a rare beast, (garaged , looked after, not rotten) and after your elbow grease, shiney paint too. Well done a very lucky find.

Cheers, yes going to keep it original as possible, we bought it just outside Reading and didn’t want to drive it back as it had sat for so long, so looked on here for a garage to take it to. Found Fox and Sons (nice guy and knows his stuff) just up the road from where I collected it from so he did service, mot and brake overhaul. Need to do gearbox oil though on next service.

Cheers for the advice [THUMBS UP SIGN]

Thanks yes really pleased, it’s not mint close up, but really original which is what we liked about it....need to sort the drivers seat though as it’s like leaning back on a bag of nails [FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY]

So I made a start on tackling this seat problem, removed it from the van and got the back cover off.Image

Looks as though this isn’t new territory for Helga as I think this is a cover that has been added. Underneath is a horse hair base which I think is the original Image I am sure someone can advise?

So anyone know if replacements are available? Or if not anyone done their own refurb?

Looks original for an early seat, you could use half inch chip foam between the main padding and the soft outer. VW Busshop.de do the seat base foam for early or swivel seats but so far not the bigger caravelle foam. They also have seat covers and material but it all gets pricey to reupholster a seat properly.

If the cover is ok you could try covering the spring faces with a sheet of canvas hogringed onto the frame to prevent the horse hair falling through and pad the front of the horse hair with upholsterers fleece to replace the cotton waste. That's how i did my beetle seats and they are really comfy
