Doh!

Postby CovKid » 11 Jul 2018, 22:00

What a fab day. Took camper for MOT (passed) but just as I reversed it out, clutch went to the floor. Now have to hire breakdown truck to get it home. No big deal to fix but heck, what worse luck can you have

If you look on the positive side it could have failed driving into the test then you would have the same tow bill but no MOT :D

Got it back. Basically if you press clutch it gets halfway then hits solid. Not looked but presuming its the bellhousing where the problem lies. Once someones around I'll jack it up and check slave cylinder is actually moving. New clutch not a prob - just hope its not release arm ;)

Weird how it just went in an instant. Went on to the ramp fine but once I dipped clutch and tried to engage reverse, it was no go.

That is how mine went when the clevis pin and hole wore out on the pedal of mine. You can see where some previous owner tried to cure the problem by adjusting it.

If its that one, I'm sunk for camping the following week. I simply do not have time to remove the dash.

Nope, its not clevis pin. My money is on release bearing or clutch fork so far. No loss of fluid anywhere. Not that it rules out master or slave, but the sudden stop halfway suggests its in bellhousing. Pedal is rigid at half movement. Be nice if its just release bearing.

That's a relief anyway. Horrible job doing that clevis.

From underneath, at rest, slave appears fully extended and release arm is horizontal. No idea whats actually happened but thats not right.

Can't believe you've owned a T25 for as long as you have, and you aren't a member of a breakdown/recovery organisation

£70 is nearly as much as my annual AA membership

Just saying like :D

Good luck with the fix.
