Hello.
My dashboard has randomely stopped working although the oil light still works. Checked the wiring diagram and see the oil light has its own earth so thought ok must be an earth fault. Have checked the earth crowns and can't see any brown earth wires that have come astray and I cleaned the crowns last year. Any ideas? Is there an earth I am missing?

Re: Dashboard not working
Gutted for you, after all that work on the body! However I’m currently locked out of my house (temporarily) so can’t look for ideas. Big connector? Follow the earth from that?

Re: Dashboard not working
14pin multiplug underneath the dash clocks has probably come unstuck, it's just a push fit. You can access it from underneath , id have a check for that..

Re: Dashboard not working
Most likely place will be the 14 pin multi pin connector, possibly vibrated loose. I think it's a common earth for all dash items in current track 33, terminal 3.

Re: Dashboard not working
Forgot to mention. I have a clustermaster dash kit fitted and as the 14 pin connector can fall out it is cable tied in position so is not going anywhere. So the mystery continues. No tachometer, no fuel or temp gauges and no lights on dash. Bet it's something really simple

Re: Dashboard not working
If it can fall out does that mean it might have a poor connection? I’d also check Earth continuity, laborious I know, but I suspect it’s only by being methodical that you’ll trace this one.

Re: Dashboard not working
Give it a wiggle, then if that doesn't work have a look at the wiring dagram & the connections from the ignition switch to the panel.
As Roger says, methodical will get you there.
