I would guess a photo of the VIN plate if it shows less than 2500kg or a higlighted scan of the relevant page of the owners manual if it doesn't.

Ours also shows no weight but the type is listed as MPV, i.e. car, which is exempt at any weight.

cheers, will take a look, hand book has them almost all at under 2500, not all though, ill copy the relevant section cheers

2.5 tonne cutoff is only for motor caravans.
If tfl think its a van then cutoff is 1.2 tonnes (or something like that).

1.205t is the cutoff for vans but T25s are over that even unladen.

Right, I phoned TFL today and they were absolutely useless and said I have to put a representation to the tribunal and it’s out of there hands even thou I sent in a pic of vin showing under 2.5t the v5 and pic of the van and a covering letter, and follow up calls.
So I have spoken to the DVLA and I have taken and printed pics of the westfailia bed up and down the over head locker, fold out table and sink and hob unit and swivel seat and vin plate and am going to post of tomorrow and hopefully get it registered as a motor cara van under 2.5t and then send that off to them and hope for the best.

What a bloody ball ache :ok

Update on my original post........I did take a photo of the VIN plate. 2460kg if I remember.
DVLA processed the changes very quickly .

My experience leads me to think it is down to the DVLA record. However, gross vehicle weight isn't the term used on the registration document any more so correcting the record isn't straight forward (to me, anyway). I lost the will to live searching for the answer. Time to try again, perhaps.

I think the main reason for the problems people incur are the fact that the Campers we are driving are not recognised as official camping vehicles/motorhomes.
Once they are re-registered then half your problem is solved - in theory anyway.
