Re: Sticky MAF (sorry I mean AFM!)
Sorry I meant everyone who has looked at it,
which included AA breakdown and specialist WBX mechanic,
who to be fair was very thorough with what he did..
However the mystery appears to be solved, and its running great so far,
partly no doubt to the new vacuum pipes and clean earths and all the rest.
What the AA man found today was,
and I only called them to get relayed to a garage,
that while I was cranking it if he wiggled some wires he could get it to fire a bit.
So with a bit of further investigation from there he found a wire that was broken,
the insulation was hiding the break though it was near the head earth.
Just when I was envisaging a new loom needed or something,
it was as simple as can be!
Of course it wasnt so simple while it was intermittent,
and it might have been cleaning those earths that finally snapped it.
All the wires around the bay look fairly cooked and worn out,
hoping that an engine conversion will come with a new loom fairly soon.
Hope this helps anyone else reading in the future.
