So I cut the floor in order to remove the knackered inner sill but it appears that the C pillar has pulled the gap wider. See below.

I have tried a ratchet strap to pull the gap closed in order to weld it but cant close the gap enough to butt weld it. Any ideas greatly appreciated

Just a thought (I’m no expert) is the van on level ground or loaded more on one side.

Drilled a few holes and used my ratchet strap again and it pulled the gap closed. Phew!
