Bottle holders.

Post by bigbadbob76 »

I'm trying to figure out a couple of bottle holders to put in the cab.
For 500ml juice bottles.
All the cup/can holders i've seen so far have been too short and a full bottle falls out.
Any suggestions?

I fid find an old fire extinguisher bracket in the shed that holds a bottle of wine/rum/whiskey perfectly and securely. So i've screwed that above the rear side window where the wife can reach it. Just need to find another for my side.

Well I couldn't find any decent bottle holders. But did come across a used filter from a diving compressor at work.
It's 65mm bore aluminium tube which is perfect for most 500ml bottles and has screw caps on each end. So i cut 6" off each end and cleaned up the sharp edges in the lathe. With a couple of strips of stainless steel bent to make saddle clamps it works well.

Hmm... you sure that the 500 ml juice bottles are not just a diversionary tactic? That Merlot looks very tempting  .

Aye, I looked at lots but unless you use bottles designed for the cage they fall out. :-(

Mine have been doing the job since 1997:
They will hold anything from a mug of tea to a two litre bottle of pop ( if you push hard enough )
Happily hold a large McCoffee, daily

Wine bottles fit in the fold away cup holders used in multivans, take off the outer cover then the bottle base can sit on the floor.

Not wanting to be all sensible i'm not sure Id want that wine bottle in the holder whilst travelling, emergency stop etc and it could come flying out and bop you on the head...

I know that many folk have a lot of stuff floating around their vans, I'm a little safety conscious and have most things strapped down (chairs/table etc) only put sleeping bags in the in the boot.

Having rolled a T3 I can safely say that you do not want a wine bottle in the holder, in fact you do not any loose items in the vehicle!

Thanks Moki.
I was wondering what stopped the bottles falling out, having the bases on the floor sorts that. :ok

That pic shows the front table recess nicely too, I wasn't sure where it was safe to drill for that.
Do you use the front table much? can you get through to the back with it in place?
Cheers.
