Waterpipes
It's that time of year to do my list of repairs, one I've been putting off is changing rusty water pipes for nice shiny ones.my question is it a job I can do on my drive without to much hassle i know I have to remove tank which means I can replace grommets and breather at same time,or is it a job for a garage.

Re: Waterpipes
You can do it with the tank in but it's a faff.
Best drop the tank and do the grommets and piping.
Don't replace them unless necessary though.

Re: Waterpipes
Have you got full length metal pipes or is it just the rusty ends?

I'm replacing the whole length with stainless pipes.

Re: Waterpipes
Metal pipes badly pitted in places not leaking but don't want to take risk.

Re: Waterpipes
I take it that you've got front to back full length metal then.

Re: Waterpipes
Okay them it's probably a wide move.
As earlier, drop the tank, replace the front to backs, the tank grommets and breather pipes and replace the fuel lines while you're there.
Get it up on axle stands and it's a relatively easy job.
Use a trolley jack to support the tank when you lower it.

Yep that's the plan been buying all the bits through the year don't hurt the pocket as much.hoping it will solve problem of fumes in the van while driving by changing grommets and breather on the tank.
