Rear Air Vents Letting Water Into Engine Bay
Hi everyone, it's raining a lot by me lately and i just realised that the rear air vents (i think thats what they are?) are allowing all the rain water into the engine bay, or at least around the sides.
It's already a bit rotten around that area inside, so work is going to be needed, but i wondered if people have any tips to prevent this in anyway?
Cheers.

Re holes I just tidied the holes rust treated/ pai ted them and cut a piece of thick plastic sheet to sit above.
Plastic sheet stops dirt and water coming in and holes let water out.
Holes there are not an mot fail

Cheers itchyfeet. Any chance of pictures of the plastic sheet you installed? Sounds like a good idea

A cable tie affixed to rear vent will also deflect water.

Magnetic strip out of an old fridge door seal. Stick it to the bodywork down the rear of the vent. It deflects the water coming off the gutter.

Cheers boatbuilder, i'm going to look into extending the gutter (i think that is what it's called) along the side of the roof. Maybe add rubber to it as mine is just bare metal?? Anyone know where to get hold of rubber to cover these?
The magnetic strips should work a treat for now though
