Skylight or Ragtop?

Post by vdubchris1992 »

Hi, the original square pop top on my van was removed by the previous owner and replaced with a sheet of plywood. It was the kind that's about 3 square foot that pops straight up. I'm wondering what the best option is here as I don't really require a pop top so don't see the point in wasting a whole lotta money replacing it. I was thinking about using some Perspex or polycarbonate to make a large skylight or use a ragtop from a beetle if they are large enough. That way I could open it up in the summer and stand up in there. Or maybe even a skylight that can be easily removed but that's not essential. Has anyone done anything like this before or know how much of pain either will be?

I have heard that the Renault Twingo rag top can be made to fit.
