You've said that the membrane is sound but there's nothing where the speaker wire is coming from? That would certainly ruin your door card and give a leak. Best to put a thick plastic box in there and seal it (providing the drop glass doesn't foul it of course) which stops the water ingress and will give a baffle for your speaker too. You'll need to seal that other hole toward the other end too.

ahh right, not having seen inside another door i never knew that... where the wire is is where my speaker goes. i guess a simple plastic sheeting around the back of the speaker, sandwiched in between the door card would work.
the rectangular hole on the bottom left is the fresh air vent- assume that shouldn't be blanked off? the door card is in good shape, but has started to go, coincidentally, where that fresh air vent is thats also where i see water pooling, see picture earlier in this thread.

The vent on the door is actually extracting air.

Fair enough, as there was a pool of water adjacent as shown in his image, I assumed that was the culprit. What marks do I get for effort
