Should I buy my Mabel a cover
are the winter covers a good idea, do they work. Just want to make sure before offloading more coin lol

Personally, no. They are rarely fully waterproof, scratch the paintwork and trap condensation in the van. Keep the bird sh*t off though.
Are we going on anything else?

Wax is better IMHO
Use a Canuba wax.
I use Auto glymm Hi-Def
Applied every six months it weatherproof the seams and paint.
wash with a good car shampoo.
Use rain X on the glass.
