Granada cosworth alloys

Post by Nocker84 »

When i brought my van i got a set of these with no tyres as extra.

I have read the previous discussions about these bit just want to try and clarify a few things.

I don't want to use spacers, I want the easiest way to fit them
Do I get the centre cap lip machined flush. The previous owner had 20 tapered washers made up for them. Do I need longer studs (from a galaxy or sharan) or not? Also does it mean I can't have any centre caps fitted? Is there any way of machining some centres to fit? Just not sure how good they will look without centre caps.

I have these alloys on my bus. I used the standard nuts and bolts. In my opinion there's enough turns on the nuts to secure them but i know some people have other opinions. I did have to grind out the centres on the front. Fortunately my mate has a small compressor with a metal grindy thingy but i suppose you could use a dremel or a metal file if you really want.
Centres look good on the front because the centre caps fill the hole. On the rear it's not so pretty but doesn't bother me.

See this thread.... mines about half way down

Thanks for that. Did you use the washers? Also what tyres are recommended, with a hightop full conversion I'm guessing they need to be load rated.

No washers. Tyre sizes are in the link above.

Front tyres 195/60/16 99 load rating
Rear tyres 205/60/16 102 load rating

Mines only a tin top so i felt these load ratings were perfectly adequate.

U said the fronts are the ones needing machined and then u said the centres fit the front. I thought when the lip was machined the centre caps didn't fit. So the centres will only fit the non machined wheels.

Also the ones that are machined, will they fit front and back or not. I'm just thinking about the spare wheel.
