Anyone with a late singlecab 1.9? Trying to identify which is the correct set up. There is a high level round air duct on the right hand side of my engine bay, so I’m leaning towards the green highlighted option??

Got a spare water hose from back of thermostat. Don’t know where this goes?

I use screw type fuel clips, cheap enough from eurocar parts but you have to click and collect they don't stock locally

‘Q1 to inlet manifold’

Thanks Paul, it’s all starting to make sense now. I wondered how the manifold came into it. Cheers. Once this horrible weather improves, I’ll install a clutch slave, no idea..then I’m not far off firing it up, carb permitting.

Budget

My £1,500 budget came and went as did my £2,000 budget; so I'm now up to £2,500 and I havn't started the engine yet or done any bodywork. I wouldn't probably recommend buying a T3 without a working engine & gearbox but I have enjoyed the build very much, so far. I don't see many singlecabs coming up for sale for comparison but there is a diesel 1.6 on ebay for £4,500 so I'm happy with that in mind. Diesels do convert to the 2.0 GTI AGG/ADY engine very well, but that conversion would go £7,000 I imagine including wiring loom, exhaust, doner engine etc. Anyway, just rambling because I don't fancy standing outside my garage today, in the snow!

For those who like a £ spready, here it is and for those who don't, look away now.

it's a pig to hold the nut and bolt at for clutch slave at read of vehicle towards engine, you need three hands, you can weld the nut to the bracket or you can poke the bolt through and hold it with a slither of beer can while you fit the slave, you can just get a short cranked combination spanner in totighten, another solution is to cut a bit of the bracket away with a hole saw.
