Scotch is a term used by non-scots to describe scottish things.
It should be a scots block, like a scots pine or a scots bonnet.

What it's got to do with Scotland I dinnae ken, whoever named it obviously wasn't scottish, the climate's too damp to use them up here.
Ok in a dry climate I guess... if you must.... or if you're stuck at the side of the road without your crimp tool.

You put up a picture of three of them already. it's not labelled as such cos we're too tight to change the label for the local market. :rofl

Someone I used to work with defined a Yorkshireman as being quite similar to a Scotsman, just with all the generosity squeezed out............ he was Scottish, I took it as a compliment. :)

I didn't think that the Scotch Mist term would be understood much north or south of this line of latitude

Is that to keep all the BW receipts together?

Funnily enough, a Yorkshireman told me that one too. :D

Anyway... back to the van... I've got a plastic bleed rail coming in the post but just as an experiment I've got the bits to make a copper one.
i'll put it in a separate thread but it's basically 8mm copper pipe with solder elbows and T pieces and a 8mm-15mm reducer.
I'll use silver solder and see how well it survives before recommending it to anyone else.

Don't panic , silver solder not needed, just good old plumbers, that's what i have used on the buggy engine water pipes inc olives , for joint security. microbore Ch is probably the best way forward for those with a problem with the original bleed rail :ok

Thay're out tonight. I tried a dab of G13 behind my ears. We'll see what the mrs thinks.
Stainless water pipe didn't show today so no smoke and flames yet Roger. I Just tidied up the wiring and plumbing and made my ring bleed..... erm I mean bleed ring.... bleed rail... you know what I mean. Thanks for the tip about plumbers solder being ok, cos my connections were pre-soldered. I just added some silver solder for luck.
