Finally spotted it, a broken arb drop-link... seems to handle real nice on th e twisty bits, so will be removing whole bar and seeing if I still think it has that certain je ne sais quoi when pushing on.

Yep, that sounds about right there. Mr S removed his all them years back at CTC, handled a dream. No fighting at the front anymore

The Nortons most of them went to the police force didn't they? Not a really catchy bike.
Personally, I quite liked the Super Rocket Gold Flash 650 BSA with and without a chair after the Duplex clutch conversion from a triumph.

cunning deicuised as a bmw for the film with a bathtub front mud gard and a single seat from a 1950's trophy, (the kind that james dean rode around his home state of Indiana), about the only thing that the bike had in common with a bmw was the fact it was a twin. have a bit of a read up on edkins he was a real under stated motor cycle hero from through out the 60"s

Okay...
As we landed late home, needed to sort x, y & z out
And then as we were terribly relaxed
I didn't realise that leaving no1 at home could cause the breakdown of a toaster and Georgia's laptop!!!!

At last a bit of time to put up some pictures. Not many of the 'action' - may put up some vids when I get time to look at them.

In the pub Thursday evening celebrating Sharon's birthday:

Friday morning - chilling in the campsite:

Getting ready for our first outing of local lanes Friday afternoon:

Saturday was a combined day of laning around Bampton and touring to Valley of Rocks via Tarr Steps:

Tarr Steps - these stills are a bit blurry as they are frames from a video I took:

Looking for (seaweed) seals:

Sunday morning we did the lanes around Bickleigh - many of these have been graded by DCC since last year, so nowhere near as challenging:

We stayed on for a few extra days and I finally got a flight on Wednesday at the Devon and Somerset Gliding Club:

Retrieving and lining it up to connect to the aero-tow (a Piper Pawnee)

Image

Image

Image
DG 505, a pretty hot ship, 22 metres span, 45:1 glide angle at about 50kts, can take the wingtips off and then becomes fully aerobatic (and costs about £80k I was told  )
Image

Mike, my instructor, doing the pre-flight briefing...
Image

Hehe, the cat that got the cream :D Waiting for the tug to re-fuel (Avgas at £2-00/litre BioN)
Image

Image

Kentisbeare (and the Goodisford fisheries behind showing clearly)
Image

Image

Image

The naked eye could just about make out the S.Wales coast through the Exmoor gap, from 2,000 ft or more
Image

PS. Saw 'Gormenghast' from the air, the scrapyard's a well know feature for kicking off thermals (hot metal dotted about a cooler meadow)

Gliders - you gotta love them - especially the bit of wool superglued to the front canopy. In a (proper :-) )power plane that would be a turn and slip gauge...

Been a few years since I went up in a glider (and I always did prefer things with engines - last thing I flew was a Hunting Percival JP Mk4, though I was in the right hand seat not the left :-( ) but that looked great. If only I was younger and a few stone lighter...... :pimp
