Big thanks to everyone involved in organising the weekend, was good fun.

Even more thanks go out to all the help, tea, bacon butties, tools, parts grease that were involved in getting my van operational again on the Sunday morning! Much appreciated!

Belting weekend! Thanks to the committee once again :ok

A bit of drama on the way home: I forgot all about the rag that I stuck between the crankcase and new bashplate on Saturday evening, to soak up the weep from the oil pressure switch - got a following taxi driver a bit excited in the middle of Kidlington as it went incandescent :rofl

Got home in one piece (just) as leaky switch got worse but hung on  back of van now well rust -proofed with about a litre of oil  but massive detour to avoid M40 incident meant we got in a solid 5 hours later...
Must do more driving and less spannering next time

Neil can tell you the rest of the return journey dramas

Thanks to all who were involved for a great weekend. I really should know by now not to abuse my vehicle like this; but you can`t not have a go can you! Lucky nothing broke, but having occasional 4 wheel drive is a bit of a challenge at times.( Must spend out on a new VC sometime ) .

well learnt 2 things from this, dont trust doug when he says you will be fine if you keep to the right, may be he ment keep to the right of the water and you will be fine? and that the trusty lump can handle a little water as young max found out when it came out of the water, sorry about that tom. still a little damp in side the cab

must look in to getting some more water tight door and locker seals,

Well done Neil, we've all been there, and discovered that

must look in to getting some more water tight door and locker seals,

such things probably don't exist!

I am looking for an accelerator pedal hole proofing kit though!. One or two pints less makes all the difference I'm told

Did anyone get a pic of C-ARW in full flight? I didn't have a fully trained film crew on-board...

Neil obviously wasn't going fast enough to create a decent bow wave and not driving far enough to the right!
There is probably a moral to this aswell.

Moral? Yes Doug, bow-waves require bows... :D

Didn't we discover a cardinal rule at Whaddon about forging through deep water?

Choose a good gear and use massive attack and oodles of right boot - the paddle steamer effect

It is unfortunate that neither subtlety nor delicacy solves the problem of steep and "pooh" slopes nor deep and dirty depths
