Post Southwest Syncro Offroad Meet 23rd Jan 2010

Post by syncrosimon »

Fantastic day out, shame lunch took so long, but hey!

Not got a great deal of photos but Sam got these vids.

We were very sympathetic to the poor old Toyota Landcruiser driver, who then because Sheldon towed him out (he had the kinetic strop) reversed back half a mile for us when we met him in another lane.

Great fun and plans are hatched for a weekend campout on the moors, we need to find a field somewhere.

Thanks to all who came, particularly those who came a long way (like Southampton)

What another ace day out with the South West Syncro folks and associates
Many thanks to Mal,Simon and Roger for doing all the reccy work - the day went very smooth as a result.
And thanks to Dave and Rose for the hospitality at Dave's Aladin's cave!(MMMMMmm shortbread)

I've got a few photos and a few vid clips i'll post later.

Highlight of the day for me was the steep descent/ascent right at the very end. Extreme adrenalin buzz!! :ok

What a splendid day out, with good company, good food and great green-laning what could go wrong!

Thanks to the route finders and cooks and also the various people who helped me with my coolant leak, sorry it delayed us for an hour. The fitting of the SS coolant pipes sitting in my basement has crept up the to-do list somewhat.

And here he is. Both diff locks powering his loaded camper up the last hill climb of the day. Slippery shale underfoot.

Many thanks to Simon, Mal and Roger, another great day out!! Some good lanes and only regret is I did'nt try going up the hill at the end. Going down was fun when the ABS came on.

Looking forward to the next one.!!

Thanks everyone for sorting out a good days laning!!

Had a great time!

Looking forward to making a weekend of it at some point....there's certainly some 'challenging' lanes around Devon should anyone want to make things a tad more tricky.......
