Typical. Nothing up north and when I try to sort something can't because it isn't an official syncronauts event so isn't covered by insurance so can't go ahead.
Cheers
Rob.

Rob, You can organise a laning event, or even a coast to coast type event.

An official (SN) site event would have to be agreed by the Syncronauts' Committee and have at least one nominated club officer present for an MSA permit and all the other MSA conditions met. This may be possible.

But other site events can be arranged, if the landowner is happy to indemnify himself and not require drivers/organisers to indemnify him. Pay and play sites of course meet these criteria.

Thanks Harry. I will speak to you in more depth about it. The answer I got back last time seemed to be not positive at all so I gave up. As you are aware there are no santioned greenlanes north of the border and the pay and play sites aren't insured for club/group booking and expect the club to be insured. Hence the problem.
Cheers
Rob.

Facts are:

Some Syncronaut events are likely nearer you than some others who drive up from the West Country or South Coast e.g. Coast to Coast, Northumberland Lanes, North Yorks etc

There is no need to book a play and pay as a group, although you may all be driving Syncros, or even all members of Syncronaut Club, that has no bearing on anything if you all book individually (only if you want an exclusive deal, can I seea problem). I really can't see a play and pay site turning business away... either they include indemnity in the price or they would be out of business. Booking a farm or other site is another matter.

What sort of thing do you want to know?

There are a few galleries of past events at Coney on the Syncronauts website e.g. 2005; 2006; 2007 etc

http://www.syncronauts.org.uk/syncronau ... 005-events

http://www.syncronauts.org.uk/syncronau ... 006-events

http://www.syncronauts.org.uk/syncronau ... 007-events

Some of the write-ups are probably still in the Syncro forum on the Archive, e.g.

there will be a booking form on the syncronauts site (soon i would think) to confirm your attendence at the event and the cost will be published with the form.

Hopefully it will be £30 per vehicle or less for the weekend, Jenny is just doing the final sums, the cost of the site has gone up since we were last there, and we'll be into subscription renewals time £10; we have a membership fee and committee structure to fulfil our requirements for MSA membership status which provides the insurance backing required for site based and other events, we have a small stock of event, safety and other camping equipment bought from subscription and fund raising, just look as it as 20p/week :) If i remember right cubs subs back in 1970s were 10p/week - probably £2/week now, anyone with kids know ?
