Ditto above.
:)
Thankfully the roads were a bit emptier of clowns in big slow stuff on the return leg, except the Nissan babstar from Glossop to the Woodhead pass, but in fairness that was probably a good thing, kept me at a sensible speed.

I was a bit "there and not there" over the weekend, but it was great to catch up with a few people and do a few lanes.
Donations passed to a very grateful farmer who will welcome us back.
For the van that disappeared without leaving their donation - send your spons or another late night visit could be in order

Thanks once again Paul and Kev for organising the various aspects of last weekend.

It's proving to be a good event to meet new people, swap or acquire some parts for the inevitable winter repairs and of course, be reminded how beautiful the Peaks are when viewed from high up those passes. Matt was a great guide on Saturday, so now we know about the 'white' and 'black' peaks and some of the names of the hills.

The campsite is ideal, and has a lovely musical quality to it at first light on Sunday morns - Fireblades winding through the gears from afar - definitely music to some people's ears :)

at the time we were at Monsal Head Paul :P

firmly in the white Peak :P
Broadly speaking, the White Peak covers the Staffordshire Peaks, the Cheshire Peaks around Macclesfield and the Derbyshire Peaks from the Hope Valley southwards.

The largest towns in the White Peak are outside the area of the Peak District national park. These towns include Matlock and Buxton, while Bakewell and most of the villages in the park are in the White Peak area. Round the areas of Tideswell, Flagg, Chelmorton and Youlgrave, you can see long thin fields created by the enclosure of medieval strip fields. The region is rich in footpaths, bridleways and green tracks that give access to the area. Longer distance ones include the Limestone Way and the Pennine Bridleway, and former railway trackbeds such as the Monsal Trail, the High Peak Trail, the Tissington Trail and the Manifold Way
.

I'll chase the mi$$ing £££££

eyes painted on Matt? :P :P
I was referring to Clive's inaccurate description of "the 'white' and 'black' peaks".
So, ner ne ner ner, I win :D

Good to see you and Torz after such a long time (did you manage to bend Clive's van doing Pindale?)

Just done Pindale again in my lunch break, but on the MTB this time, thoughts are : it's faster on a bike; whilst it is more scary because of the damage you can do to yourself, it's not as scary as the imaginary calculator whirring in your head totting up how much Baxter will be getting after you do it in the van; the rocks look bigger and sharper on a bike.

Really pissed that I missed this, was really off colour all Saturday and some of Sunday, and not self inflicted, which is even worse.

I was looking forward to meeting a few of you guys and giving my van its first try off road with me at the wheel :D .
