Devon 2014

Post by HarryMann »

Please sign below if you intend to come to Devon this year, we need to know numbers for camping and for planning routes etc.

We will be camping at Post Wood Gardens campsite (near Kentisbeare) - there are toilets and hot showers. You do not need to book directly with the campsite.

You are welcome to arrive from Thurs 21st August and stay as long as you like.

It is strongly advised that you should carry::

a. a decent spade / mattock
b. suitable tow strops, shackles
c. strong ratchet straps or Sylvester hand-winch
d. tree strop
e. waffle boards
f. pruning saw

We do not expect everyone to bring all items, but at least some, a good spade being essential.

CB radio also recommended or portable CB another alternative (like the one the marshals were using at SP )

Navigation
We have noticed that fewer and fewer people are running MemoryMap or similar navigational software, so please bring (buy, borrow or beg) OS maps for the area. We do not expect you to have all these maps, but even one or two would be helpful.

These include:
Explorer 110, 114, 115, 128,
OS 1:25k Dartmoor

We can provide overlays in various formats for other navigational systems on smartphones.

We will be away on holiday now for the next couple of weeks, but I am sure Rogerg-wagon will be answer any queries.

This is beginning to look unlikely for me, as it looks like I'll be moving house that weekend. Shame - I was looking forward to some green-laning.....

Just chatted to Roger, he thinks the lanes will be easy going but due to the weather recently they may be a bit overgrown and scratchy.... Hoping to get onto the moor on Sunday though, so that might be better?

Besides, scratches add character.... :run

Is anyone at the Devon meet going to have an OBD2 Cable with them?

I've got a cable but cant get VCDS to work properly. I'd like to try another cable to work out if its my cable that is the problem. ?
