I was hoping to get to this event to meet everyone but it's not working out. Still too much to do to be ready to drive the van to & around Scotland next weekend and the weeks beyond.

I remember this quarry site from 25-30 years ago and trialling with Land Rover's and the like. I certainly recall that here were some severe bits which wouldn't be very forgiving for our vans. Still, there were also many other parts which were more gentle and suitable for high-speed 'race' events.

Enjoy yourselves - I look forward to seeing the pictures, please.

Not sure if we're talking about the same place. It's nowhere near Reading and high speed racing its not. Maybe that was yesteryear.
Like most event sites one picks the routes to suit the vehicles capabilities. Vehicle damage is a possibility but not an aim.

Ooops sorry Patrick, I have moved back to Somerset.Need to update profile. So now at Timsbury near Bath. Syncro residing in my barn in the woods near Radstock.
I used to go to West Harptree for AWDC events when I was a Schoolboy (many years ago). Its a great playgound, just unforgiving, at there are alot of rocks. Gutted I'm gonna miss it -it would be great to compare how syncro's perform there.
Have fun :ok
