Thanks to all for a great weekend of learning what my van can and can't do. Alex says she enjoyed it but next time she is not coming unless other wives and children come... Thanks to Alistair for organising it, trying to pull me out then dragging me round the fire for an hour in 4th as water pumped out of the exhaust... Thanks to Eltee and Eric for offering several different opinions on what best to do, often at the same time... We drove home with no problems.

Apologies for my misguided attempts to thank my rescuers by getting the beer and whisky in only to find that no-one but Rob was drinking and everyone but me and my family were staying the night. Consider it a beer IOU (humus & avocado sandwich IOU for chiz).

Look forward to the next Scottish Syncronauts event!

Aquaman

PS MCGILL, when you get some form of working comms and a spare day (haha) please get in touch as my van needs some TLC...

Well done Alistair and everyone who supported this meet... looks a fine site, you found the best weekend weatherwise and had some good driving and a few laughs too.

Is anyone going to propose this as the Spring Event next year... ?

In fact, if you can guarantee the weather then I'll propose it, though we'll probably have to give the AA Relay Northern service a bit of notice :D

Yep well done Alister,

Oli said she really enjoyed her day pottering around by herself in me old trusty Doka it was just a pity we had both been a bit poorly as of late and could not camp up for the weekend.

Well done Aqua Man for jumping in at the deep end with your White Submarine and testing things to the limit. Got you and the misses down as very cool Dudes you took it all very calmly. :ok

I think we will have to all chip in for a power winch or bribe Mc Gill with a case of Buckfast..... :D :) :? to be there the next time with his fire truck :rollin

Drumclog has a lot to offer and here's hoping we can all meet up there very soo :D :) 8)

A twin tow out, one on the bank and one in river, not tandem but twin Y bridle might have done it

Need a selection of good long ropes though; we're still looking at affording some goodly lengths of 12,000lb plasma rope.

An excellent weekend was had by all.

Thanks to everyone who came along, including those who came without a van for one reason or another, it all added to what was a very chilled out and relaxed weekend.

The weather couldnt have been better although the nights were freezing and ground was saturated which made everything a little more difficult.

Dom did a great job drive a non difflock syncro and got round alot more of the terrain than i'd have thought. And yes the aquaman excitement was a great learning experience for all concerned, I'm still amazed we brought the engine back to life, well done all concerned.

Plans to run a similar over night and single days driving around the new year. :ok

Hi Ian, I think you need to connect an alarm clock to your fire truck siren. That would wake up most of shotts! :rollin
