Post by barsocial »

Hi all,

Anyone know if VW ever made any variants to the black dashboard that I see in every t25? Seen a photo once of one in white but can't find it again on tinternet.

You can get a very light grey padded top, it was a factory option. But it does retro fit. Quite rare

I had mine done in Bentley black beluga leather and French seamed in oatmeal . You need to key the existing dash with 60-80G paper & use a proper contact adhesive, it may be prudent to have it done professionally as getting into the seams without leaving ’stretch’ marks could prove tricky.

Sorry about the quality of the photo, not quite finished yet it was assembled in haste for the MOT test.

Good luck with yours. :ok

That looks better that the stock black finish. Next year, I hope to whip the dash out of my van and recover it with some Alcantara -think that's how its spelt -material. I thought of covering the dash first with some thin scrim foam and then the new covering over the top. That's the plan anyway.... 8)

Well the dash tidy is just a factory option (onexe?) fold-out/map table one, the rest looks like paint as no stitching or seams visible and they've done the lot.

Seat are ISRI Orthopaedic highbacks, very comfy.

Nice door handles though! Are they VAG? They look familiar...

Alcantara (spelt right :ok ) is ace material. I am having all the Hi top and everything above the waist line in Oatmeal Alcantara.

You may be better buying Neoprene backed Alcantara for the dash top, if not and you glue the face of the scrim it will soak the glue and your dash will look all lumpy when you glue the Alcantara on.

UK Hide are the official importers for Alcantara although there are lots of other companies selling it. make sure (although I am sure you know what you are doing) that you only buy the real thing as the copies are rubbish and dont wear well.

Good luck, your dash will look fab.

It's designed to mimic a Porsche 911 interior of the 1980's - the door cards/handles are 911

IIRC the door grabs are BMW with the e/w switchgear.
