Mud flaps

Post by JeffRoo »

Hi all, been thinking about fitting some mud flaps to my ir Caravelle, but are they worth it, or just another trap for corrosion?
Appreciate any thoughts/ experiences
Thanks

I have had my van for 8 or 9 years. It had mud-flaps already fitted when I got it. I have not suffered from corrosion around their fitting points.
I don't know where I am, but I'm having a lovely time!

Got mudflaps fitted (the jk ones - it's from a time before I knew about brickwerks, but they work very well & keeps crud away from behind the wheel arches which has to be a good thing).

Will be fitting the rubber inner wheel arch liners when funds allow (after the sills are sorted :D

The South African JK ones are better they actually protect your bodywork from gravel rash on the wheel arch edge.

Cheers Big herb - something of quality that jk supply (I must have been lucky
Mine catch the floor as "ethel" is lowered - we get some real "ouch - that sounded nasty" looks when it scrapes on the floor, but they've lasted donkeys years like this :D

GoWesty & VW Heritage sell the SA ones too, if you can’t bring yourself to buying from JK! ;)

I get the scrape too, but they’ve lasted well and look good on the arches.
