1987 t25 1.6 n/a diesel filter issues

Post by Drawl21 »

Hi all, having real ongoing problems since I changed the diesel fuel filter,it’s the twist on type a bit like an oil filter, since I’ve changed it it’s sucking air into the clear pipe to the pump, followed all the instructions, and bought a new one ,in case the other one was faulty,is there something I’m doing wrong when I’m fitting it,re-fitted it again yesterday and she ran great, got up this morning and the clear pipe is full of air bubbles again?any help or guidance would be really appreciated, thanks Dave

I too was plagued with air bubbles after disturbing the filter on my diesel

I ended up renewing the pipes from tank to filter and filter to pump with the ones brickwerks sell which have the ends already fitted and new crush washers on the supply pipes

until i did i kept getting the engine "cough" every so often when it had sucked in bubbles.

Annoying fault but satisfying when you get it fixed

Hope this helps
