That’s a nice honest-looking van. You can see the rust, and you can see the bodges.
It no doubt feels really daunting getting this flood of questions and advice, but you can believe that just about everyone on here is well meaning, and an awful lot of us started our T25 ownership knowing nothing at all. Me included. My knowledge has come from Haynes and Bentley, (and the diesel manual), and I went on a welding evening course at my local college. I’m quite proud of the fact that in my time of ownership I’ve only had one job done at the garage so far - after the front brakes seized a few days after buying it! At that point I knew that the only way we could afford to keep it was if I did everything myself. Oh, and I paid someone to paint it badly too. But that’s a reflection of me working in the NHS and having a pay freeze, too many kids, etc etc. I’ve always liked getting my hands dirty, but before this it was with bicycles, no vehicle experience at all. Loads of people on here use garages tho, but they have deeper pockets than me. I would too, then I’d a actually be able to enjoy it with the family!
But you can trust everyone on here to be enthusiastically behind you all the way.
