Steering wheels

Post by 937carrera »

My Aircooled van has a hard plastic steering wheel, nothing wrong with it, it's what i expected.

I was surprised when I got my WBX van. The wheel is squishy all over, perhaps nicer on the cross piece, but when I hold the rim it seems to rotate radially on the rim. In other words if I grip it tightly I can twist my wrists up and down and feel the rim move.

Is this normal for a WBX or is there something not right with mine ?

Not that important, I've had it 6 months and only now thought to ask the question :)

I used some superglue in a hypodermic to stick the soft bit back onto the steel, just didn't like the feel of it all rotating!!!
