Hi
Have an Aug88 on a D reg 1.9 Petrol van conversion.

Is there a way to know if it’s a post all the changes 1985/6 model??
Doesn’t have a rev counter. Was that an optional extra?
Are there any other tell tale things to look for?
Can’t do much about it, just interested..
Thanks

chassis number will reveal all, and you can work out exactly when it was built from the plate under the nearside seat then the things that changed can be checked against the parts catalogue or details on vendors sites
if it's a 1986 model year vehicle it will have the CE2 fusebox, the big black one with 20 plus fuses and lots of relays and it will have the later sliding door (latch on c post) and brakes (floating caliper)

http://www.vw-mplate.com/mcode.php

and the best site I've found online, see codering http://www.teedrie.nl/

there's also a list in english somewhere on Brickyard and the info is mostly in Etka or Etos if you have that, the old ETOS disc the demo version does work under win10 but the old cracked Etkas don't appear to, I think becaue of the hardlock version

Thanks for that
According to the list mine was built April/may 1986
The plaque under the passenger seat was interesting, mine just has the van serial number, but all good
Thanks

The vw heritage catalogue has some usefull info too.

You can cross reference part numbers for different years quite easily using it.
