Autosleeper 1/4" Gas System into 8mm Manifold

Hi Guys,
Firstly please don't worry, I will have all this checked over so no need for the usual "leave it to someone who knows what they are doing".
I have recently installed an underslung LPG Gas It system that feeds into this 8mm Manifold:
I want to keep my old Autosleeper copper pipes that feed into the fridge and cooking hob however it is not 6mm as I thought but 1/4 inch Imperial.
I would like to have this connected to my manifold safely. At first I assumed I could buy a 8mm x 1/4" straight coupling but seems I cannot find any items like this.
Questions
1) What is the defacto best / safest way to connect my old 1/4" pipes to my 8mm Manifold?
2) Can I use a 1/4" compression nut and 1/4" olive with the gas taps I have, or are they only designed for 8mm pipe? i.e. are the taps designed for a range of pipe sizes with the compression nuts varying accordingly or are they designed only for specific sized pipes, regardless of nut and olive used?
3) When I originally thought the old system was 6mm I bought a 8mm x 6mm reducing olive set:
However my 1/4" pipe would not fit this. Is it considered a 'bodge' / unsafe to evenly sand 0.3mm of copper off the pipe to make this fit?
Thanks for any advice
