Dash board/lower console removal

Post by Jimmucks »

Hi, can anyone tell me how to remove the lowermost part of the dash board. The piece directly in front of the gearstick and below the heater sliders. Do I just pull it? I can't see any retaining screws anywhere.

Thanks for your help.

It just pulls off.
But the plastic is quite old now so do it gently.

And if you have a diesel you need to remove the j shaped segment of the dash that the cold start handle lives in, this screws in from below.

Yes that is right and mine has an ungodly spaghetti junction of wires tucked up behind it which defy tidying up for fear of the nothing working again or the whole bunch catching fire

Not the one on mine, i had to push the bottom edge of the metal dash board in to release it . Was wedged in solid.
