Fold out cup holders, where are yours?

Post by LostDog »

I bought a couple of the fold out cup holders to make up order for free postage a while ago but not sure where to fix them. Where have others screwed theirs?

They were factory fitted on the walk through area of the seat box on the passenger side , multivans had a pair fitted with a space between them.

Ah that's interesting. Didn't know that, perfect place for them. I modified my ash trays in the rear to accept them. Image

Mine are in. Going to have to remove to cover the seat box but I haven't got to that. They are probably the best cup holders I ever used, they can even hold my little boys beaker cup with the top arms folded up.

Jacksons of Arley is very close to me and once saw a cup holder that clipped on the side of a table. I asked an assistant why you'd need to clip it on rather than just put the cup on the table. She laughed and said "because not everyone can spot the obvious flaw in the design" :D

Mind you, in 11 years I've never actually found a need for a cup holder. Small cup flasks with watertight lids are far more practical. Not those cheap ones with narrow bases that tip over easily but the squat type with a wide flat base. I've never drunk tea while going along anyway.

More use is a small front-mounted table so you don't have to sit there with a bag of chips on your lap :D

Just sayin, as there are so many 'gadgets' out there that don't work that well in the real world. My tip is keep a small notepad up front and WRITE down things that prove to be a pain when you're out then do the remedial work when you're at home. We all use them differently but you can get them near to perfection by keeping notes. Most of the really neat solutions are home made.

This year, for the first time ever, I finally have a place for the portaloo but that would never have happened had I not written it down before constructing new interior. ;)
