Replacement air intake tube

Post by bootie3367 »

Hello everybody, my tubing from the snorkel intake to the elbow has collapsed.
Been looking at the brickwerks replacement and was wondering if this replaces just the tube or goes direct to the airbox missing out the elbow with the drain hole?
Also does anyone know the ID of that silicone hose, I would like to try to source a replacement over here and save the postage costs.
The other thing is, the cam cover breather, I would like to fit an oil catchment tank with a breather and blank off the entry to the main intake to the turbo so I get cleaner air going in. Has anyone done this before?

Cheers

Are you talking about the oval pipe? I tried unsuccessfully to find an alternative. There's not much room in there and it really needs to be oval to fit. I bought the one from brickwerks in the end and paid the postage to Ireland which is always painful. If I remember correctly I think it's around an 80mm diameter circle squashed into oval.

I used a piece of 90mm PVC telecom ducting bummed from a gang doing some trenches.

I warmed it up with a hot air gun to get the oval profile, then bent it slightly to fit the curve of the body. Fiddly but free, and larger cross section than the original.
1.9D (AEF) pop-top. Aaaaahhhhh........that's better.
