We have a set in metal bumpers, not that reliable but when they are working they are great. Probably down to the angle of the bumper they are fitted into.

Thanks everyone I was just reading the distrutions about angles with the van its tin bumpers with plastic end caps aka China quality

I have a bad habit of cutting corners still not us to the great turning the van has I'm thinking of two on each side as well as the 4 on the rear anyone? and where to fit them all be it via an on off switch so they don't beep every time something passes but can be switched on when I find myself in a tight spot.

Why would you want them on the side?
You have door mirrors. And they will beep when you reverse between cars/posts even not in tight spots.

Find out the viewing angle of the sensor, you can do it physically if you want. Wire them up to a bat and face one away from the rest on a post 2 foot up. Then you can plot where the sensor sees.
With that info you can work out where you need them on the van.
Get it right they are brilliant, worth spending a bit of time

What sets do people have on their metal bumpers?
I have fitted a set to my metal bumpers (didn't go for a cheap set, QUANAN 1840 for Metal / Steel bumper designed vehicles) off amazon.

Fitted as per instructions and just get a continuous beep?
Tried pulling out each sensor one by one from main control unit (to see if I had a faulty sensor or one sensor was seeing something - tow bar?) - NO joy!!?
Any ideas or have I got a faulty unit?

Thanks in advance. :ok
