front to rear 'hoses'. What are they for?

Post by meggles »

Replacing the front to rear coolant tubes I noticed a couple of hoses fastened to them with tie wraps. What are they for please? Peeing down when I was doing the job so I didn't have chance to follow their route. Thanks

Thanks, but I'm not sure that's correct. Although there were a lot of the fittings removed before I got the van so who knows?. should have said it's a 1985 1.9 with DG engine fitted

Yep the black rubber pipes about an inch thick will be the flow and return pipes to the heater matrix inside the blower housing under the dash. Mine are cable tied as well.

Thank you for that. One of them is looking a little damaged (slipped with hacksaw). So, I'd better replace that as well then.

It is enough to cut where the damage is and put a connector like this: https://www.brickwerks.co.uk/hose-conne ... aight.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; secured by two hose clips

ZsZ, going to check condition a little more and if they're up to it I will, no doubt, use a connector. Thanks for that
