Passenger Side wheel Problem

Doing this,
put races in. Tried putting back on, cant get the outer bearing on.
Does this picture look right. There is a bit on the steering knuckle that stops the outer bearing going on. Pulled hub off... as a result the inner wheel bearing is stuck on... Any ideas, UPDATE Got bearing off.

Well,
Update....
Managed to get it off.... had to hacksaw the old bit off to knock it out.
Then it it was a right pain to put the nut on, the thread is close to going on it.
The outer bearing had to be knocked in a bit also but managed it. Took all day, no play at all.. well a tiny bit as researched.
Hope its ok and wont fall off.

The nut only has to be finger tight and the peened washer will hold it in place

That'll stop it rotating but if the thread is worn the nut can be forced off by side forces on the wheel without the nut turning.

Is your nut able to move sideways at all then?

nut is on tight, tightend so i can move washer a tiny bit, i did have to hammer bearing in a bit so I could get the nut on.

I'm a bit puzzled by this photo. I've only seen the setup on my early system, so maybe it's the differences between early and late that are puzzling me. Did you ever find out what that part on the knuckle was for? When you removed it, presumably you didn't reassemble it. If it prevented you putting the outer bearing on, how did it work with the old outer bearing that you removed?
When you pulled the disk off and it left the inner race of the inner bearing behind, presumably it pulled the seal out as well - the one that goes into the disk/hub after the bearing has been drifted in. I can't tell whether it's there in your photo. When I did mine, the outer bearing didn't need to be knocked in at all - it makes me wonder whether you had tapped the inner bearing in all the way - it's supposed to be drifted in until it reaches the shoulder inside the hub. I'm just wondering if a slip-up here could be the source of the budgie - e.g. if the bearing wasn't pushed all the way home then the disk won't be centred in the calliper.

The knuckle i think was the old part of the bearing?? I knocked it off. When I took the hub off there was no sign of the outer bearing, just debris, loose bits, nothing that even resembled it!
I did drive it for a mile or so when it failed just to park up. Im 95% sure I put both races in properly. But hey me being me im starting to doubt myself.
Inner bearing placed in, then oil seal. hub pushed all the way, then I placed the outer bearing and knocked it a couple of times with socket, just so I could get the washer and nut on.
Jacked the wheel up yesterday just to see if it made a noise when I pushed it, it catching a tiny amount when it spins round so not sure if that would translate to the cheeping sound

Removed evrything, but now I cant get the hub off.
Any ideas.. Can I knock it from behind?? Might have to to get it off

There should be a thrust washer between the nut and the bearing - that's the bit that should be movable, according to Haynes, "using a screwdriver and finger pressure".

OK, I only mentioned it because you used almost the same wording to describe how the bearing moves, so it was possible you'd misinterpreted their description. I don't know whether the bearing itself should move - I didn't try that after I'd adjusted the nut.

Now this is the old outer bearing... should it be able to push all the way.. Im stuck here, hence why last time I had to knock it with a hammer.
