REMINDER - Hub caps on tight

Post by Nathanb »

Hi All,

More of a reminder to myself, but as this happened to me I thought that I would put it out there.

I had 4 new tyres put onto my van the other weekend but stupidly didn't check that the garage had put my hubcaps back on properly before driving off; they hadn't. When I got home I found out that one of my hub caps must have come loose on the drive back.

Re-traced my steps but unfortunately I couldn't find it on the side of the road. :(

Lesson learned.

Thanks
Nathan

You need to retorque the wheel nuts , sometimes the tyre fitters don't torque them up enough !

And sometimes they do them so tight the threads are almost stripped ;-)

Thanks for the pointers.

Checked the wheel nuts and at least they had tightened those up correctly.
