I am looking to try and narrow down the best size tyre to fit into a 15x7" rim...
The van is a westy with an OKish 1.6TD JX engine, so I don't want to raise the gearing or loose any top speed particularly.
From what I read, standard size on carat alloys is 205/70R14.
The closest size in the recommended ranges for a 7" rim is 205/65R15, but it doesn't seem quite right to me to put the same width tyre on a 25mm wider rim...
Other available close matches are:
215/60R15 which comes out slightly under size (~4mm)
And
225/60R15 which is slightly over (~8mm)
Can anyone comment on running 225s, or are these margins too small to make significant difference?
