Holts Tyreweld...

Post by SYNCRO-VIKING »

Hello everybody -

What is your opinion of Holts Tyreweld as a substitute for carrying the spare wheel in the car???
https://www.holtsauto.com/holts/products/tyreweld/

I quote from the above link:
"Unlike some of our competitors, Holts Tyreweld does not damage your tyres.
After using Tyreweld, the puncture can be repaired according to the British standard BS AU159:f."
(Rich Hitchman, Senior Engineer for Holts).

Sounds pretty good to me.

Of course, after initial inflation, when driving slowly along to distribute the foam, one would
have to very carefully monitor that the shape of the tyre appears normal, in order not to overload
any transmission components, as under-inflation would in effect mimic a smaller wheel.

(But then that is no different to the ever-present possibility of driving merrily along with a
slowly developing puncture...)

But I mean, how often do we have punctures anyway?
I have now done 20,000 km in my Syncro without any tyre problems since buying it in September 2013.
Of course, for serious long-distance driving there is no substitute for one or two spare wheels + tyres,
but for day-to-day running around locally, this seems a sensible solution.

Thank you for your time,
Best regards,

OKO puncture free..
Permenant stays in the tyre for the life of tyre.. Run it in mine, world tour syncro has it installedd and has prevented major tyre damage etc...
Can supply you with it... £15 per bottle..+ shipping, depending on tyre size you prob need 2 bottles.. (1 bottle treats 5 std 185r14 tyres)
