225/40/18's is the tyre size not the wheel. :ok

Ah OK I know they are 18" wheels. Do you know if they would fit on my vw t25 1.6 diesel 1984 ?I got 17s on it justnow. The new ones are vw r32s. Going to see them today so just need to know if I can stick me straight on without any trouble asap so I can let the guy Know IL take them.don't want to mess him about. :?

get a cup of tea and read this.
http://wiki.club8090.co.uk/index.php/Wh ... ive_wheels" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

18's are at the limit and there are many things to consider, load ratings of the wheel and tyres is paramount.
getting it wrong is expensive

Thank you very much for that info I'm thinking 18" is maby not the way to go.might just stick with my 17" for now to save any heart break or neck break even. Lol. Thank you again for your Input made it a lot clearer. :? :D

There were different stud patterns for different models. Early golfs 4x100, then 5x100 and the odd 5x112. Depends what year the r32 wheels are. The mk5 and mk6 had 5x112, which is what you require. The centre bore will be 57mm not the 67mm you require. You could get them machined, but then you have the load rating. 18's will go on, but you need to figure it all out before buying some. :ok

Mk4 R32 wheels are 5x100 and not suitable, the Mk5 R32 was 5x112 which should be - but I would check load rating and whether they are genuine VW wheels as there are lots of R32 'alike' copies out there which won't be as strong.
