i think you will find most people dont even think about the spare at all :lol:

lots of owners are driving around with non standard rims or running adapters oblivious to the fact that their shiny new wheel nuts wont fit the standard spare and the socket they carry to get their new wheels off wont fit the nuts holding the adapters on

215/75x15 All Terrains under the front albeit in a custom carrier.

Diameter is accommodated by taking a little of the flanges of the chassis rails and welding the edges.

When I first got my Westy I fitted a set of original Carat alloys with the alternative 205/70 R14's tyres. I then decided to buy a 5th 'matching' rim and fitted it with the same size, I couldn't close the carrier.
So I had to remove that tyre and fit a standard 185 R14C...good job I don't have to pay for tyre fitting/balancing.

As has been said, I believe that there are two carrier sizes or at least a mod that gives more width to the carrier.
