Will arc alurads straight replace carats?

Post by Middle29 »

I want to buy some Arc alurad 15" 7j 5 x 112 AMG wheels. I currently have what I think are carat 14" originals with 195/75/r14c tyres on them on an Atlantic.

My questions are:
1. Will I need to change the bolts? I read on brickwerks that T3's that left the factory with alloy wheel actually have tapered seats not rounded

2. If the new wheels do go straight on what tyre size should I go for? I wanted a bigger all season kinda look. I'm pretty sure original springs.

Thanks all, especially the PMs so far

What ET (offset) are the wheels you are considering? They will almost certainly need to be the ET 21 version to avoid a foul with the top wishbone.
You should be able to fit a 215 or 225 tyre on a 7" rim.
I would change to studs up front and get new nuts all round to suit the wheels.

Thanks, yes the offset is ET21. Apologies if I'm Being a noob but how do I know if I need new bolts? And if so Tapered or rounded??

I want to make sure I have all the bits ready to put them on & I haven't got the wheels yet.

Cheers

Look at the seating for the bolt, taper seat is an obvious cone.

Sorry I jumped the gun a bit (edited post) so do I need spacers to get the correct ET ? According to brickwerks fitting guide:

https://www.brickwerks.co.uk/index.php/wheel-fitting/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Its old info. All the period 7 x 15 alloys are ET21 and they work. Ronal and ARC knew what they were doing.
If you have manual steering then you wont need your gym membership anymore, just use the bus as your daily driver.

Well I've got power steering but could do with the workout to be honest haha. Nothing like being a dad to add some lbs.. Anyways..,

I've got an aaz and hi revs so I'm assuming this is a good mod.

So you mentioned studs up front. So will I need spacers and studs?? Should I follow the bwerks advice on that page??

Basically how do I figure out what to order?

Regardless of tapered or rounded.

Thanks
