Dezent VW T25 Alloy wheels
Hi All,
Have been reading loads of posts on this forum whilst thinking about what alloys to buy. Having read all of the info (probs not all - but it seems like it) I eventually have purchased some DEZENT Alloy Wheels 6.5 x 15" - ET 38. I think the offset is OK as the ET is lower than 39; I think the load rating is OK for the van; now I realise I am not sure what size tyres to fit on them. Going to lower my van by 40mm-45mm; has any one got any suggestions.
Also can I confirm that the ET size means that I will not need any spacers, new studs etc
B

Re: Dezent VW T25 Alloy wheels
Well, sorry to be the bringer of bad news and contrary to what the ebay seller put in the description....but they're not suitable for a T25(or a T4) for the following reasons.
1: They're only rated to 625kgs so not high enough for a T25(or a T4)
2: If the centre bore is 57mm they won't fit a T25 without the centres being machined to clear the front grease caps.
If the above didn't apply:
They'd also need longer rear studs and longer front bolts.
No spacers required but 10mm ones could be used all round to fill the arches out more.
195/70/15C's or 205/65/15C's tyres.

Re: Dezent VW T25 Alloy wheels
G60Steve -Thanks for the reply - I really appreciate the info. I was aware of the centre bore and was prepared to have them bored out. I did however ask the question about weight and was told that they would easily take a loaded van. Once again an example of a little bit of knowledge being dangerous.
Good news is I have not paid for them and will reject them - so whilst you may be the bringer of bad news you are the saver of money (always a good thing)

Hi G60steve - would you have any thoughts on a good place to look for alloys; have been looking for a long time and am now worried that I could make a similiar error.

Re: Dezent VW T25 Alloy wheels
Are you wanting new?
If so sorry I can't recommend any aftermarket wheel sellers as most don't even know what a T25(T3)is...
Try and stick to wheels made for a Mercedes as the centre bore will be suitable for a T25 and they should also be load rated for a T25.
To satisfy your insurance company they need to be rated to at least 650kgs each...higher the better.

Not too bothered about new - starting to think that it would probably be better to get from an existing T25 owner; there's at least a chance that I will be getting the right thing. I know I keep saying thank you but I really do appreciate your help

Re: Dezent VW T25 Alloy wheels
quite a few poeple have gone the Merc ML route, the benefits are that they are rated for the weight, no need to have the centres bored out, the ET is within VW guidelines with 15 -20mm spacers on the front( longer studs required ) and with a set of these lovely things from brickwerks http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/index.php/b ... -25mm.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; on the rears, there is no need to remove the hubs and fit longer wheel studs.... the wheels then fill the arches nicely without the side door fowling.
Fit decent tyres that are load rated and end of worries ..
heres mine.... fronts where using 25 mm spacers at the time this pic was taken.... but where too wide so changed to 15 mm .
