Drilling Out Alloy Bolt Holes

Post by The Hairy Camper »

I have some Mercedes Alloys with 12mm bolt holes.

Looks like I have to have the bolt holes drilled out and install extended studs to make them fit correctly.

My question is, should I get the bolt holes drilled out at a garage? Or can this be done DIY style?

I don't want to mess anything up, so please tell me if doing this at home is a stupid idea.

Cheers,
HC.

The most proper way is to ream or mill the holes with a big milling machine.
Best to ask a machine shop.
