T25 Pop Top Latches

Post by Moreau-Smith »

Hi all after a long long time my van is ready at the body shop however the original catches for holding down the pop top have seen better days, just received a new set from Proud to Pop and they dont seem to fit, does anyone know where I can get a set, ideally stainless steel.

Regards Richard.....

The Originals where attached to the pop top itself and then hooked / locked onto the roof gutters but wore the paint on the gutters and created surface rust.

Sorry don't know how to add a picture.

https://www.protex.com/toggle-latches" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Protex have drawings, I printed them out 1:1 cut them out and held them to the van to check the size was right, hard to judge otherwise.

Cheers itchyfeet !!!

When I looked at the website it was hard to work out what would fit best, then I realised they are based in Redditch, so I called them and they were happy me to go to see them directly and view the products available.

I picked a couple of different types and then took them to the body shop that is doing the restoration, we selected the best one to suite the job, they will require a slight alteration reducing the curvature of the bend on the catch but will be perfect and it will hook directly under the guttering so no need to drill holes in the shell.

For anyone that is interested this is the one that fitted the best:-

https://www.protex.com/30-585SS-non-adj ... el-natural" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It was the model 30-585SS and at only £13.30 for the pair what a deal.

Can't thank the team at Protex enough they were so helpful.

I then found some large Heat Shrink that will fit around the clasp to prevent it from rubbing the paint off the gutter, from Hilltop Products for £10.19 for a meter including postage, even though I only need a couple of inches:

So hopefully that's job done.
